OctaneRender

OctaneRender is a new rendering engine that achieves a very high level of realism!

Octane belongs to the so-called "unbiased renderer". Advantages (compared to biased renderer): Achieving photorealistic pictures quickly with much less effort because light distribution is calculated physically correct. Another big advantage: While editing you can see the changes immediately (first very noisy, then clearer and clearer), so there´s no need to always render a test. Anyway - there are disadvantages as well: Unbiased renderer are less flexible, e.g. it is not possible to make objects in front of a mirror invisible as it will be computed physically correct. Moreover very large and complex scenes are (still) difficult to handle within unbiased renderers.
